FREIBERGER EXCAVATING COMES ABOARD TO SPONSOR HEAT RACE #2 AND OCTOBER 14TH THUNDER ON THE HILL SHOW
By ERIKA PALMAI-WAGNER
Freiberger Excavating, based out of Allentown, NJ, has released their plans to join the Engler Machine & Tool Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series family, sponsoring the winner of heat race number two with $50 cash at every MASS sanctioned event throughout the 2017 season, as well as the October 14th Thunder on the Hill Show at Grandview Speedway.
Pat Freiberger, owner/operator of Freiberger Excavating is no stranger to the 305 Sprint Car scene, as he was a former competitor and team owner himself, now currently sponsoring Stefanie Palmai Carberry, who drives the Palmco Motorsports #99.
“I love racing, everything about it I love,” Freiberger expressed. “I have been a part of racing since I was fifteen years old, and even though I am not behind the wheel anymore, I still have to be a part of it in some way, because I love this sport and I want to support a series that has a great concept of keeping Sprint Car racing affordable and fun for the little guys”.
Owning twenty-two Super Stock Late Model feature victories that came from tracks like East Windsor Speedway and New Egypt Speedway, Pat turned his interest over to the new Super Sportsman Sprint Car division that started up at New Egypt in 2002. Winning four features in that class, Freiberger then returned to the Super Stock class, collecting a few more wins before going into semi-retirement to focus more on his steadily growing business.
“Having the itch to get back behind the wheel again in 2012, I heard about the new affordable Sprint Car class that was becoming really popular in this area. So with almost no hesitation, I went out and bought a car and started doing what I loved again,” Pat said about his return to racing after almost a ten year absence. “What was great about racing again was that all of my buddies that used to help me before came out of the woodwork to help me like the old days, and it was just a lot of fun. The competition of this division is serious, and majority of the drivers have a lot of respect for each other.”
Freiberger Excavating specializes in installing septic tanks, fiberglass pools and hydro seeding. Keeping busy with the pool installations, Freiberger recently began selling fiberglass pools, making it a “one stop shop” experience. “We have been so busy, especially with the pools. We've been installing one pool a day six days a week since the season began a few weeks ago”.
“I’m really happy to be a part of this new series as a sponsor. It's a fresh start for these guys, and I know how expensive racing can get, so any bit helps,” Freiberger said. “I think paid heat races is a great idea. It makes the drivers race a little harder in those short eight laps, making it more exciting for not only the fans, but for the competitors as well. I also love Grandview Speedway, and I believe that it's the perfect Sprint Car track. The shows that the 305 division have put on in the past have always put the fans on their feet, and I know that this year will be no different.”
