As September rolls quickly around the corner and summer come to a close, you might be seeing school supplies fill the aisles at local supermarkets in wake of the upcoming school year! For some families, this maybe an exciting time, when children head back to school with fresh new book bags filled with shiny new pens and pencils, but for other families, this added expense to an already tight budget could become stressful and a burden.
On August 26th at Bridgeport Speedway, the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series is scheduled to return for their sixth appearance of 2017, on the track’s themed Back to School Night. MASS’ Rookie of the Year sponsor Geiswite Creations is hosting a back to school give-away for the children and families that attend Bridgeport that night in hopes of helping out families in need during this exciting time of year.
The give-away begins the moment the grandstand gates open, with a free folder, notebook, and two pencils to be handed out to the first one-hundred school-aged children the walk through. Then, throughout the night, kids will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a brand new bookbag, a Sprint Car wing side board autographed by drivers of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, and also a side board from Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series driver Zack Burd.
“With this being our fourth year holding this giveaway at Grandview Speedway, we are lucky to have the opportunity to be able to bring this event to Bridgeport Speedway as well when the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series is set to appear on the same night!” Jennifer Geiswite, owner of Geiswite Creations explained. “In previous years, this event has grown more and more successful as time has elapsed, so this year we are hoping to impact more children and families in making going back to school exciting!”
Geiswite Creations is actively seeing donations from drivers, teams and fans looking to make a difference in a needy family’s life, collecting new backpacks, folders, notebooks, binders, pencils, crayons, and markers so that they can be bundled and handed out on this night. Also, drivers looking to expand their fan base can also contact the Geiswite’s about donating other items to their raffle along with school supplies. Donations will be accepted up until August 26th at 6pm.
Along with officiating the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, Scott and Jennifer Geiswite of Geiswite Creations are sponsoring the 2017 Rookie of the Year champion with $250 cash, a $150 gift certificate to Geiswite Creations and 200 personalized autograph cards. Tom Carberry, a veteran Modified stand out who switched Sprint Cars just this season, leads John Webster by thirty points in the Geiswite Creations rookie points race, followed by Bobby Scherff, Dean Conk Jr., Douglas Snow and Tyler Reinhardt.
This Friday night, the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series returns to action at the famous Williams Grove Speedway, a much-anticipated event for many teams this season. This event is a co-sanctioned race with the Pennsylvania Sprint Series, and headlining Friday night will be the All Star Circuit of Champion 410 Sprint Cars. More information on this event will be released later this week.
