FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE………

(April 18, 2026):  Dave Brown Jr. of Aston, PA took top honors Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway by capturing his first MASS victory of the young season. Brown outlasted defending champion Troy Betts in the Betts Garage Towing & Hauling 25 lap feature for the  DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade. It was Dave Brown’s 13th MASS victory of his career, tying him for second on the all-time win list for the Series.

“I knew Troy (Betts) was close, especially when we got to lapped traffic as I wasn’t that much faster than him,” explained Brown in victory lane, “But fortunately we ended up on top. The competition with MASS is always tough, we are all very close. I feel that every car here is capable of winning each night.”

Dave Brown drew the pole during the Tanner Dairy Store “Chocolate Milk Redraw” and took full advantage of it, as he grabbed the early lead at the start with Betts wasting no time taking up the chase. Betts pressured Brown in the early laps with Brown slowly opening up a five car length advantage. Meanwhile, behind the leaders, heat winner Ryan Stillwaggon was on the move and battled with DJ Tanner and last week’s winner Tim Iulg for the third position. This exciting battle lasted for several laps, with the trio racing three-wide several times.  By halfway, Tanner won this battle with Iulg chasing him for the third position, as Stillwaggon had his hands full with a hard charging Aiden Borden.

Leader Dave Brown at this point had increased his lead to almost a full second over Betts, who continued to track the leader. Borden began challenging Stillwaggon for fifth and they put on a crowd-pleasing side-by-side duel for three straight laps, with Stillwaggon finally prevailing to hold the spot. The final 10 laps saw Betts start to reel Brown in, as all eyes focused back on the front runners. With 2 laps remaining and Betts just three car lengths behind, the duo caught lapped traffic, giving him one last opportunity to challenge Brown for the lead. The final two turns saw Betts go to the far outside trying to gain momentum but Brown was up to the challenge as he held on for the victory by just .441 seconds.  The 25 laps were run non-stop in just 8 minutes and 31 seconds.

Brown’s win was the third of his career at Delaware Int’l in the nine MASS events run there since the Series began in 2017. Betts was the runner-up for the second straight time as he now has taken over the MASS point lead in his chase to repeat as champion.  DJ Tanner raced home third, chased by last week’s winner Tim Iulg. Ryan Stillwaggon, who won his heat race & had the fastest time in hot laps, completed the top five.

Next Saturday night, April 25th, MASS will be back at the Bridgeport Speedway in Swedesboro, NJ for Series event #3 of 2026.  Pit gate opens at 3pm, Grandstands at 4pm, with hot laps beginning at 5pm.
