DOWNTOWN DAVE BROWN BECOMES FIRST REPEAT WINNER AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

Aston, PA's Dave Brown mastered the twenty-five lap Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series feature event at Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, May 11th. Taking the lead from pole sitter Larry McVay shortly after a lap 6 restart, Brown came from his fourth place starting position to earn his second win of the 2024 season. McVay, who looked strong early in the feature, finished in the runner up spot, with Troy Betts, Tim Iulg and Eddie Wagner rounding out the top five.

Eighteen MASS 305 Sprint Cars took place in the program, with All State Auto Glass | Vahlco Racing Wheels heat race wins going to Jeff Paulson and Troy Betts. Dave Brown set quick time in the DCapps Carpentry Hot Lap Session with a 17.769 second lap time.

Jeff Paulson and Larry McVay drew the Capitol Renegade Front Row in the Tanner Dairy Farms | Holler Boys Beef Jerky Redraw, and brought the field to the green flag. Lap 6 brought on the first caution when Buddy Schweibinz spun in turn 4. Cody West would bring out a second caution the turned into a red flag on the lap 6 restart after flipping over the cushion in turn one.

On the third attempt to restart the race, McVay would choose the outside lane and Brown, who lined up beside him, would drag race into turn one, with Brown coming out on top, leading the field down the backstretch. It was history after that as Brown would take his DCB Racing No.44 skillfully around the 1/2 mile semi banked Delaware Oval to victory lane for the second time in his career (2021).

The DCB Plumbing and Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capital Renegade returns this Saturday, May 18th to Bridgeport Speedway.
