FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE………
(May 30, 2026): Troy Betts made it two wins in as many nights as he took top honors in the 25 lap DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series feature event presented by Capitol Renegade at the Bridgeport Speedway Saturday night. Betts, who won the MASS event the night before at Georgetown Speedway, took advantage of his front row starting position, leading every lap of the non-stop event to complete the “MASSive” weekend sweep.
“The competition is so even in this series, everyone is fast which makes the lapped traffic very tough,” exclaimed Betts in victory lane, “I really had no idea how close anyone was, I just kept rolling the top and executing my sliders until I saw the checkered.”
Rookie Tyler Grau and Betts brought the field to the green, however third starter Robbie Stillwaggon surprised the front row with a turn one slider to grab the top spot. Stillwaggon, in his first start of the year, held the lead only to turn four when Betts returned the favor to be scored the leader of lap one. Betts opened up his lead over the first five laps as Grau quickly took back the second spot with opening night winner Tim Iulg moving up to challenge for the position. Iulg wore Grau down and grabbed the second position, setting his sights on Betts who was just beginning to encounter lapped traffic. Iulg quickly closed the gap on the leader, with both now negotiating back markers. Betts was flawless in traffic, using it to his advantage to snooker Iulg every time he got close. Iulg was fast, turning the fastest lap time of the event, however Betts never made a mistake and over the second half of the race opened his lead back up. Stillwaggon had recaptured third but had his hands full with Brian Carber and Adam Carberry over the final 10 laps giving the fans their choice of what battle to focus on.
Betts was flawless with his moves on the lappers and he would win his second straight on the MASS series tour. Betts is defending his 2025 Series title very well so far as he has yet to finish outside the top 3 so far in five events. Iulg was fast but settled for the runner-up position on this night. Brian Carber finally won his battle with Robbie Stillwaggon to take third, with Stillwaggon and Carberry rounding out the top five.
